August Round Up

So this month was dominated by transwales. A great week with great weather and great riding. The end of it was quite sad really and took me a week to pick myself back up. Apart from that and SITS there has been very little riding - recovering or tapering all the time, makes me sound so serious!

The figures:

0 mile running (Oh dear that is not good!)
391.83 miles moutain biking (361 singlespeed)
9.33 miles cyclo-cross
191.74 mile road

23677m of ascent

Progress on targets:

  1. Run at least once a week Failed in March :o(
  2. Run 300miles in the year 38% complete
  3. Cycle an imperial century a month Failed in March :o(
  4. Cycle 8000miles in the year 71% complete

So onto September and the first challenge is the kielder 100, followed by the three peaks cyclocross. I'll definetly be keeping myself busy. Oh and of course there should hopefully be some work again.

  1. I can realte to you being sad at the end of the transwales, whenever I do anything that is fun and challenging I always find I am really sad when it comes to an end...not on the day things, but the longer events and things and you make friends and you have special relationships with people and share some tough things and when it ends you feel a bit empty and sad but deep down you know the next challenge is only around the corner.

Your goals are going well...sont dwell on what you missed (its gone), just keep focussed on the goalposts, they are getting closer!

  2. Thanks, I think I needed time to see what I had achieved! I think as it felt easier than last year I wasn't sure. It also means I need to think if I want to try and start working on speed, or more likely, just enjoy what I do!

I think it is hard leaving the enviroment we were in, all these people you are best friends with and then you all go. hard really.

It's funny my mileage is so low this month, its not been down this much since December - where the weather has a lot to do with it!

  4. ha Kate!

These are incredibly impressive challenges. My lists involve mastering my frisbee throw. Biking at all during December, etc.

Still you're pretty solid on some of these goals.
