Start as I mean to go on

So many races start with a short run or involve sections I have to push my bike that it makes sense for me to do a bit of running. Once I get into it I really enjoy it as well. I meant to run once a week this year but have failed on that one. Still there is still time to enjoy the fitness benefits so today I started July as I mean to continue and went running. It wasn't far (I only did 20minutes as I know I will hurt myself otherwise) it certainly wasn't fast. But I got out there and did it!

  1. Well done! I set myself a target of 700 miles to run this year and well .. oops. Falling over at the beginning of this month hasn't helped and I'm not sure my hip is 100% yet but you've inspired me to get a pair of running shoes on soon.

  3. Shouldn't this post be titled 'start again as I mean to go on'?! ;-)

Great minds Trio - 'im indoors has suddenly decided to get into trail running, so I've so far joined him on 3 short weekly runs...

It's good time of year to start - the temps & light evenings are making it all a lot more appealing. We'll be a lot more limited for trails locally once we need lights...do you have loads of options?

  4. Once it gets dark I wouldn't want to run on my local trails on my own. But sometimes Ali comes with me. I actually ran on the road yesterday!

  6. I just joined the gym opposite work so hoping to get some running in at lunchtimes, I'll just have to remember to save some energy for riding home.
