Bye Bye Ali's roadie

Got a phone call this afternoon, Ali's roadie had been nicked from outside work. They had chopped right through her lock! Which is a substantial one! I walked over to meet her with trainers so she didn't have to walk home in bike shoes. It's been reported to the police but we're not hopeful.

  2. Oh no, unbelievable they cut through the lock. Having been a recent theft victim its just a horrible feeling, I oscillated between fury and "why me" quite a lot. Strangely I would have been more gutted if one of the bikes had been taken, its much more personal than a car/telly/play station.

    I'm so sorry.

  3. This is always a bummer, you get the bike set up exactly as you like it, the accesories you need, all personal bits and pieces, it becomes like an old friend because of the journeys you have made together. then some low life takes it all away. It makes you want to cry, and I guess its happened to us all, hopefully you have insurance ....but from the ashes a phoenix will arise ready for more adventures.

  4. Think you've just got to get proper insurance, I've had both my cars and my motorbike stolen since crimbo and they've attempted to get in my garage a couple of weeks ago, destroying the garage door in the process. Policy excess is a real pain when you have to make a claim, I'm about 2 grand out of pocket now. Hope they catch the scumbags who did it who stole the bike!

  5. How annoying, I've had both my cars and my motor bike stolen since xmas and they tried to break into my garage 2 weeks ago but just destroyed the door - best to get proper insurance for everything and as low excess as possible. The police have said there is now a market for stolen goods which wasn't there 18 months ago due to the recession. I hope they catch whoever did this but the police don't seem interested - when my motorbike was stolen I received an email about 3 hours after reporting it saying the investigation was closed and I should contact the police if I received any further info - thought that was their job!

  7. Is Ali covered on the insurance, hope she can get a replacement sorted. I'd be beyond upset if this happened to me so hope Ali is OK.
